The first assault happened at about 5pm in Pier Terrace.

An 18-year-old man was riding his bicycle in the alleyway behind Pier Terrace when he saw a man cycling towards him.

As the man got closer he kicked the victim’s handlebars, causing the 18-year-old to fall from his bike.

The man then got off his bike and walked towards the victim and punched him in the face as he stood up.

The suspect then punched the 18-year-old in the mouth and head-butted him, causing a cut to the lip and bruising to the victim’s head.

The attacker was white, 6ft, of medium build, with short dark brown hair, with a slight scar on the left cheek.

He was wearing a royal blue t-shirt, with black tracksuit bottoms, white or yellow trainers and was riding an old green mountain bike.

Police believe the assault is linked to another attack that happened at about the same time in High Street.

The victim, a 62-year-old woman, was walking along High Street when a cyclist slapped her across the bridge of the nose when he rode past, causing a bloody nose and dizziness to the woman

The cyclist then rode off towards Yarmouth Road.

The suspect in the second attack was white, aged in his twenties, of medium build and was wearing a blue top.

Anyone with information should call PC Dean Brearley at Lowestoft Police Station on 101 quoting reference LO/14/3261, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
