Ian Mooney, 31, has been named as the victim, with an inquest into his death due to open on Monday morning.

Mr Mooney had been involved in a collision with a black Audi Q7 in Aylsham Road on Tuesday at about 4pm.

He had been taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital, in Cambridge, with life-threatening injuries and Norfolk Police and Norfolk's Coroner later confirmed that he had died at the hospital.

Another man, also in his 30s, and from the Norwich area, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, drug driving and dangerous driving following the crash and has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Today floral tributes could be seen at the scene of the collision, close to Barclays Bank and the Glenmore Gardens turning off Aylsham Road.

Five colourful bouquets of flowers were tied to a lamppost by the side of the busy road.

Attached to the rainbow of flowers were messages from loved ones and there was also a tealight placed in a white holder decorated with a heart.

Among the many hand-written messages were the words, 'Sleep tight Ian, fly high.'

Passers-by paused to pay their respects today and a number of people living and working nearby also expressed their shock and sadness at the crash.

Among them was Viv Colman, 72, who had been waiting at the nearby bus stop when the crash happened earlier in the week.

'We heard a bang but did not see the car - there was too much going on,' she said.

'It was terrible, it was on Tuesday at about 4pm.'

She said she was thinking about bringing some flowers to add to the tributes.

'It's so sad to hear that he has passed away. I feel for his family,' she said.
