A new free event in north Norfolk spotlighting the county’s finest food, arts, crafts and drinks proved successful and far exceeded its organiser’s expectations.

The Norfolk Artisan Fair on Easter Sunday was the first of eight fairs at Kelling Heath Holiday Park, near Weybourne.

Organiser Glyn Kirpalani, who ran his own Norfolk Heatwave Chilli Sauce stall at the fair, said: “The sun shone for our first fair and 32 local artisan crafters enjoyed amazing sales as crowds flooded in from across the region to top up the happy campers already enjoying their holidays on the park.

“Some stalls even enjoyed queues of people - our hand-cooked gourmet pie stall completely sold out within just two hours of opening and plans to bring a lot more pies at future fairs. One fabrics crafter exceeded her best ever event sales figure from three years of running her micro enterprise, by over £100.”

The next fair is on Sunday, April 30.
