Cromer crematorium plan - decision postponed

Planners have this morning postponed a decision on an application to build a crematorium on the outskirts of Cromer.
Members of North Norfolk District Council’s development committee decided that there were too many objections to the scheme, which their officers had recommended for approval.
It will now be debated at a later date, yet to be announced.
Developers Westerleigh want to build the facility, with a 90-seat chapel, on a site to the north of Cromer Cemetery on Holt Road.
But more than 460 people, as well as the National Trust, have objected to the proposal, primarily due to its location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Among those against it are Felbrigg, East and West Runton and Aylmerton parish councils, together with local group AONB Action.
