The long-standing charity, which is celebrating its diamond anniversary this year, provides services, support and education for disabled people in Norfolk to develop skills that will give individuals independence and life choices to reach their potential.

Clive Hedges and Terry Quigley, chairman and secretary of dip organisers the North Norfolk Beach Runners handed the cash to Sheila Parish and Nathalie Marshall the chief executive and marketing and fundraising manager of Nansa.

The dip saw a record turn out of spectators and over 300 people taking the plunge into the North Sea. One of the runners daughters attends NANSA services and suggested the dip be in aid of the local charity this year.

The money will go towards Nansa’s sense and touch appeal to provide essential sensory therapies to children aged birth to five with disabilities in Norfolk. Children with disability experience some form of difficulty interacting with the world around them due to sensory problems, which can also be a barrier to learning, affecting their whole life experiences. Sense and touch therapy helps overcome these issues.

Mr Hedges said: “The Runners were delighted to raise money for such a fantastic cause.”
