Cromer's New Year's Day fireworks event draws thousands of people to see the sky and sea lit up around the pier.

But it is also a chance to chance to capture the magic moments on a camera.

And event organisers are again running a competition aimed at rewarding the creative skills of clicking visitors.

The fireworks display is gearing up for its 16th year, having been launched as a millennium event.

Last year's photographic competition attracted more than 100 entries, it is hoped that everyone from artists and community groups to ambitious individuals will get involved in the first hours of 2015.

It is open to all photographers aged 17+ and the brief for entrants is simply Cromer Fireworks 2015.

Local electrical retailer Hughes Plus, Cromer are offering the winner the latest Samsung 40' LED TV worth £400.

The winner will also have their image turned into the official poster for the 2016 event.

Fireworks committee chairman Jim Bond said: 'The annual New Year's Day Fireworks have been capturing people's imagination for 15 years.

'We are looking for photographs that really capture the spirit of the event.'

This year the committee is also launching a poetry competition for children, details of which will be announced soon.

Cromer's New Year's Day Fireworks will take place at 5pm off Cromer Pier on January 1 2015. The competition entry deadline is Wednesday January 14.
