Lowestoft’s RNLI lifeboat crew and the HM Coastguard from Gorleston were called to the beach to assist the East of England Ambulance Service at 12.38pm.

The RNLI crew said: “The team was paged to assist the ambulance service with a critically ill casualty at North Denes Beach.

“Casualty responded well to treatment on scene and was airlifted to hospital by the air ambulance.”

It was the second call out of the day for the Gorleston Coastguards who, at 8.15am, were called to assist police and the Great Yarmouth and Gorleston lifeboat when a man was spotted on the edge of Haven Bridge in Yarmouth.

The road bridge was briefly closed while police spoke to the man who left the scene with officers.

  • If JPH lowered their car parking price, it wouldn't be necessary to park outside the grounds. When you have to visit more than once a day it gets very expensive.
