A burglar who was discovered by homeowners in their house at 4.30am in the morning and was abusive towards police officers has been jailed for 20 months.
Malcolm Appleby, 29, of Admiralty Road, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a year and eight months for a burglary at a home in Queens Road in Great Yarmouth in the early hours of Thursday, July 5.
On the morning in question, police were called at 4.30am after the owners had awoken to find an intruder inside their home. The man ran away and it was discovered a set of keys had been stolen.
