Woman sexually assaulted on New Year’s Day in Norwich

A woman in her 20s was sexually assaulted in Norwich on New Year’s Day.

The victim, who is in her late 20s, was walking along Unthank Road at around 4.15am when she was approached by a man and assaulted.

Police said it happened near to the junction with Beechbank on Monday, January 1.

The attacker ran away when he was approached by a group of people who had been dropped off by taxi.

Police are now appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

Officers would also like to trace the taxi driver who was in the area at the time.
