A 36-year-old woman had her baby taken away from her by social services months before she died, an inquest heard.

Laura Bailey, of Alma Avenue, Terrington St Clement, was found dead in her home by her mother, Karen Bailey, on December 18 last year.

King's Lynn Coroners' Court heard Miss Bailey had been struggling with heroin abuse while she was pregnant.

She gave birth in July 2016 and her baby was taken into foster care and put up for adoption.

In her statement, Karen Bailey said: 'I am devastated to lose my daughter but knowing she is at peace now brings me some comfort.'

A post mortem report revealed Miss Bailey had a fatal toxicity of heroin and methadone in her system in conjunction with other drugs.

Senior coroner Jacqueline Lake said Miss Bailey had no intention of taking her own life and concluded it was a drug-related death.
