Witnesses to a fire which police believe was started deliberately are being urged to come forward.

As reported, a blaze broke out at the disused Mariners fish and chip shop on Nunn’s Way in Dereham between 7pm and 7.25pm on Thursday, May 22.

Two teenagers aged 16 were arrested in connection with the arson attack. The pair, a boy from Dereham and a girl from Norwich, have since been released on police bail to return to the police investigation centre in Wymondham on July 8.

Investigating officer PC Craig Dixon said: “The building is in the centre of Dereham and CCTV inquiries show a number of people in the area at the time of the incident so I’m keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously.”

Anyone with information should contact PC Dixon on 101.
