Police are appealing for witnesses after a 22-year-old man reported being assaulted in Great Yarmouth.

The man told police he was walking home when he was set about by a group of men. He suffered slight swelling to his forehead and reddening to his ribs.

The males are described as speaking with English accents and one wore a baby blue baseball cap.

Officers are asking anyone who was in Northgate Street, near the junction with Beaconsfield Road, around 11pm on Thursday, June to come forward, regardless of whether they saw any altercation.

They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a group of men or has any information about the incident. Call PC Andy Thirtle on 101.
