A 46-year-old Wisbech man charged with driving offences is under investigation for theft.

Police arrested the driver of a Citroen Berlingo van in North Street after he attempted to flee from officers last night.

They found bicycles and other items they suspected to be stolen in the van, along with tools they believed had been used to commit thefts.

The man was taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He was charged today with failing to stop for police, driving without due care and attention, and driving without insurance.

He was bailed to appear before King’s Lynn magistrates on May 8 and released under investigation for theft and going equipped.
