Is this a good way of promoting the police commissioner election?
Norfolk Police Authority has released a ‘rap’ video in an attempt to promote the forthcoming election for the role of police and crime commissioner.
The video, starring writer and broadcaster Keith Skipper as ‘Duzzy Raskel’, is an attempt to reach more people ahead of the election on Thursday, November 15.
It has been made in association with the Norfolk Police Authority (NPA).
“It’s a serious subject but we feel a lighter touch with that distinctive Norfolk flavour helps get the message across,” says Keith. “I’ve never done anything like this before ... something I have in common with most candidates and voters on November 15.”
Chris Harding, Chief Executive of the outgoing NPA, said: “The Home Office national campaign to raise public awareness is scheduled to start later this month. This is to be followed by national promotions via the Electoral Commission. I hope that today’s launch of the Duzzy Raskel rap helps raise awareness in Norfolk.
“Like it or not, it carries the clear message that things are going to change and that it is important to the people who have a vote in Norfolk that they seek to raise their and their friends awareness of it and know of the date for the election.”
