A woman, claiming to be from a gas company, called at a home in Pitchford Road, Earlham on Tuesday last week.

A suspicious resident contacted the gas company who confirmed that no employees were working in the area at the time.

The woman is described as white and in her 20s, with brown hair which she wore in a ponytail.

Norfolk police urged homeowners to be wary of anyone cold calling at their address and to always ask for identification from unexpected callers.

Anyone spotting anything suspicious is urged to call police using the non-emergency number 101, although if a crime is in progress then people should dial 999.
