The device hidden by Kevin Musk was found by his victim, who discovered the videos he had recorded and took them to police.

He was sentenced to a three-year community order with a supervision requirement at Norwich Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

He must also complete a sex offenders programme which starts in April 2014 and will be on the sex offenders register for five years.

Musk, 57, of West Carr Road, Attleborough, had already pleaded guilty to one count of voyeurism, including the installation of equipment, at an earlier hearing, when magistrates warned him the offence could potentially fall into a custodial bracket.

Ben Brighouse, prosecuting, yesterday told the court that the woman had noticed the camera and plugged it into her computer to examine the files.

“There were three videos. The first showed Kevin Musk’s hand, but she didn’t watch it all the way through,” he said.

“She then looked at the second, which showed her going to the toilet, and she realised what was going on.”

Musk admitted the offence in interview, and said the videos had been for his own gratification.

Mr Brighouse read from the victim’s impact statement to police, in which she said she had been left “humiliated” by the experience and had become “very paranoid”.

“She couldn’t face talking to people in case she burst into tears. The incident has had a huge impact on her life,” he said, adding that the woman had seen a counsellor.

Damien Moore, mitigating for Musk, said his client had been “a man of exemplary character” prior to the offence.

“When he entered his guilty plea he lost his good character. That will have significant consequences,” he said.

Mr Moore said Musk had cooperated with police throughout the investigation, and pleaded guilty at the first opportunity, adding: “It’s of huge embarrassment to Mr Musk.”

Musk must also pay £85 costs.
