A 999 call from a vigilant resident led to the arrest of two men on suspicion of theft.

Police were called to Wellesley Avenue North in Norwich in the early hours of Thursday, July 19 following reports of suspicious activity at the site of the former first school.

Officers attended the scene with a police dog and found a man in bushes on nearby Wolfe Road, who they arrested.

A second man was also detained close to the scene.

The men, aged 32 and 34, were taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and later released on bail until August while inquiries continue.
