A US airman who was clocked doing 108mph on a motorcycle on the A14 has avoided a ban.
RAF Lakenheath airman Demarreo Carter, 25, of Eriswell Road, Lakenheath, was caught by police as he tried to catch up a friend while riding his 600cc Suzuki on August 4 last year. The incident took place just before 1.30pm.
Carter admitted speeding charges at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates' Court yesterday.
He told the court he was 'very sorry' for the offence and said it would have a negative impact on his job if he were to lose his licence.
He was fined £500 and six points were put on his licence. He must also pay £85 costs and a £50 victim surcharge.
