A robbery victim was set upon by two BMX biking robbers and grabbed by the throat while cash was stolen from his bag.

In what police have described as “a nasty robbery which left the victim shaken by the aggressive nature”, a 17-year-old boy was set upon by two male youths on black BMX bikes just as he turned into Churchill Road from Estcourt Road, by Northgate Hospital, Great Yarmouth, between 10.15pm and 10.30pm on Friday, September 14.

He was grabbed by the throat by one male whilst the other stole £50 cash from his bag. The robbers were then seen to cycle off along Estcourt Road in the direction of Northgate Street.

The first offender is described as a black male, 17 to 18-years-old, five foot eight inches tall, and was wearing a green woolly Adidas jacket and riding a black BMX Bike.

The second is described as a black male, 17 to 18-years-old, five foot 11 inches tall, and was wearing a red and white Adidas jacket and was also riding a black BMX Bike.

DC Kevin Maskell from Great Yarmouth CID said: “Although the victim was uninjured, this was a nasty robbery which left him shaken by the aggressive nature. We are treating it as an isolated crime and I’d appeal to anyone who can help to contact police.”

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious in the area at the time or from anyone with information about the robbers.
