Police say a suspicious package found at West Norfolk council’s offices today turned out to be harmless paperwork.

Officers were called to reports of a suspicious package at around 9am.

But at noon, a spokesman said: “The package has now been examined and it’s not being treated as suspicious - it just contained paperwork.”

The building, on Chapel Street, was not evacuated. A number of police units were sent to the scene.
