Police have charged a man in connection with an assault in North Walsham at the weekend.

Officers were called to Vicarage Street, off Mundesley Road, shortly before 2am on Saturday following reports of a disturbance in the road and that two men had been injured.

A 43-year-old man suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for treatment where he remains in a serious condition while a 44-year-old man sustained an injury to his arm and was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

Martin Price, 46, of Aylsham Road, North Walsham, has been charged with ABH in relation to the injuries sustained by the 44-year-old man and will appear at Norwich Magistrates Court today.

While a 46-year-old man has been bailed in relation to the incident on the 43-year-old man.
