Police were called to Kartel in London Street shortly before 4am on Sunday following reports a pane of glass in a conservatory roof had broken resulting in shards falling on customers.

A number of people suffered minor/superficial injuries and five people were treated in hospital, and later released. The six people injured were two men in their 20s, one man in his 30s, and three women in their 20s.

A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of aggravated criminal damage and questioned by detectives at Wymondham police investigation centre.

He has been released on conditional bail until January 9 while enquiries continue.

As reported, the occupants in the club were evacuated as a precaution, after the large pane of glass, measuring 5ft by 2ft, fell.
