A 24-year-old man has been remanded in custody following an incident in Lowestoft which left a couple with head injuries.
Police were called at around 12.25pm on Saturday to reports of an assault at a property in Tonning Street where a man and woman, who are both in their 70s, were injured.
The couple were taken to James Paget University Hospital but their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Aaron Parkes of Tonning Street, Lowestoft was arrested on Saturday and taken to the Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre.
He appeared before Lowestoft Magistrates’ Court today charged with GBH, ABH and resisting arrest.
Parkes spoke only to confirm his name during the short hearing. There was no application for bail and he was remanded in custody to appear before Ipswich Crown Court on September 19.
