Police have appealed for witnesses after a man was stabbed in the face and neck in Norwich.

The attack happened off Riverside Road on Friday night.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, was attacked by a group of men and suffered stab injuries to his face and neck.

It happened between Gas Hill and Rosary Road at about 9.45pm.

Police are looking for three to four men, who it is believed are known to the victim.

The man who was stabbed was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, where his condition is described as stable.

Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators carried out further enquiries at the scene yesterday.

Leading the case, Det Sgt Dave Freeman, from Norwich CID, said: “This was a nasty assault and happened at what would have been a busy time in the Riverside area.
“We are appealing for any witnesses to contact police with information.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact DS Freeman at Bethel Street on 101.
