A 48-year-old man accused of attempting to rob a Norfolk bank has appeared in court.
Christopher Robert Carling of High Street, Overstrand, appeared at Norwich Magistrates Court this morning.
He faces charges of being in possession of a firearm - a ball bearing gun - with intent to cause fear of violence and attempted robbery at the TSB bank in High Street, Holt, just before 3pm on Thursday.
Carling, who was arrested in Norwich yesterday, was charged in the early hours of today.
Carling, who spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth, did not enter any pleas.
Magistrates sent the case to Norwich Crown Court, where he will next appear on September 1.
There was no application for bail and Carling was remanded in custody.
