Burglars smashed two car windows and took handbags from inside as it was parked near an adventure centre, according to police.

The thieves made off with cash, cards and cosmetics which were in the bags taken from a white Fiat 500 parked in Shadwell, close to the Thorpe Woodlands Adventure Centre.

The theft is believed to have taken place between 4pm and 5.35pm in the adventure centre’s car park.

A front passenger window and rear driver’s side window were broken during the incident, with the bags being found hidden under the car’s seats.

Investigating officer, PC Tom Joyce, said: “We’re keen to hear from any witnesses, in particular a man and woman aged in their 50s with a dark coloured Ford Focus. The couple were seen in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident.”

Anyone with information should contact PC Joyce at Thetford Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
