Thorpe St Andrew schoolboy punched in stomach in attempted robbery

A 14-year-old boy was punched in the stomach as he walked home from school in an attempted robbery in Thorpe St Andrew.

The victim was walking home along Charles Avenue and when he arrived at the junction with Oak Avenue was approached by five youths, two of whom blocked his path while another pulled at his rucksack.

The victim was then pushed in the stomach which caused him to fall to the floor. One of the youths asked if the victim had any money. They searched his rucksack before walking away empty-handed towards Thorpe Avenue.

The suspects are described as being aged around 20, one of large build and were all wearing hoodies.

Police are appealing for information to the incident which happened between 3.25pm and 3.40pm on Wednesday, January 29. Call 101.
