A woman in her 80s was targeted by a thief who stole £300 from her bank account.
Police say the incident happened at Tesco, in Downham Market, at around 1pm on Wednesday.
The victim was encouraged by the woman ahead of her to go through the self service checkouts first, as she only had a couple of items to pay for.
When the elderly lady left the store, she was approached by the same female in the car park who asked her for directions and showed her a map.
The victim later discovered that her bank card had been taken from her purse, which was left unattended during the conversation, and £300 was subsequently withdrawn from her account.
The female offender is described as having olive skin, with a foreign accent, approximately 5ft 5 in her early 30s. She was accompanied by a man described as aged in his 40s - 50s, stocky build with balding grey hair and some teeth missing.
Police say shoppers should be vigilant whilst shopping and loading their vehicles and to ensure that their bags are secure at all times.
Anyone with further information about Wednesday’s incident should call Downham Market police station, on 101.
