A 17-year-old who suffered serious wounds to his shoulder and elbow during an incident at an independent Norfolk school has been discharged from hospital.

The teenager, a pupil at Langley School in Loddon, was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital following an incident overnight between Sunday and Monday at the school. A hospital spokesman said he was discharged on Tuesday.

A 17-year-old arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent has been charged with the offence and appeared at Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was held in custody and is due to appear at Yarmouth Magistrates today – which is sitting as a youth court.
