The man behind the murder of Steve Stannard bought a ticket to watch crime-action thriller The Accountant in a Cambridge cinema just over two hours after the killing.

Hassiem Baqir bought a ticket to see the film, starring Ben Affleck, as well as Nachos at the Vue Cinema in Cambridge’s Grafton Centre at just before 4.40pm on November 5.

Baqir was then picked up and taken back to the safety of London where he hoped he would be able to evade capture having already discarded the murder weapon which he had said he had on him for his own protection.

The 19-year-old, known as Stan, got involved in the murky world of drugs after dropping out of a music course.

He was paid £100 a day to act as a drugs runner for a London gang and had been asked to take £3,000 worth of crack cocaine and heroin to sell in Norwich for the Pat and Mick Group.
