A Norwich City FC scarf donated by lifelong fan Stephen Fry has been stolen from a Peterborough charity shop.
Mr Fry was one of a number of celebrities to donate coats and scarves to Age UK’s Spread the Warmth campaign to support the elderly in winter.
The scarf dates back to the Canaries’ 2004/5 Premiership season and had been on display in the shop for several days, ready to go on sale on Monday.
It is believed to have been taken this morning.
Hugh Forde, from Age UK, said the organisation was “deeply disappointed” by the theft.
Appealing for it to be returned, he added: “The scarf was a great asset to the campaign.”
Others donors include The Saturdays’ Mollie King, Geri Halliwell, The Great British Bake Off’s Mary Berry and Downton Abbey actress Joanne Froggatt.
The charity is selling the coats and scarves at various branches throughout the UK.
Police in Norwich have launched an investigation after a woman claimed in a tweet she had knocked a cyclist off their bike.
