Police are a-peeling for witnesses after 500 potatoes were swiped from a field.

Thieves made a crisp getaway after taking the ‘taters from a field in Hall Road, Outwell, on the night of Wednesday, July 3. If apprehended, the mash and grab raiders could face a roasting in court.

The crime is one of a number of bizarre offences included in the Norfolk force’s latest crime summaries.

They report a 7ft petrol pump was stolen from a property in Bexwell Road, Downham Market, while a bath has been taken from a house in King’s Avenue, King’s Lynn.
