A speeding driver was arrested after testing positive for driving under the influence of cannabis.
The 20-year-old man was stopped around 5.40pm on Saturday, September 8, by officers from the Suffolk Road Casualty Reduction Team, after the black Renault Clio he was driving was spotted speeding on London Road in Beccles.
The motorist tested positive for cannabis and was also arrested on suspicion of being in possession of the drug.
The Norfolk and Suffolk roads and armed policing team Tweeted: '#RCRT stopped a #speeding driver in #Beccles and #arrested him for drug driving following a positive @DrugWipeUK @SuffolkPolice #1462 #1053'
Officers questioned the alleged drug driver at Great Yarmouth police investigation centre and later released him under investigation pending further inquiries.
Sergeant Peter Howlett of the roads policing unit said: 'Drink or drug driving impairs your judgement, making your reactions slower, therefore increasing the chance of being involved in a collision.'
