A security guard was taken to hospital after being hit with a metal implement, believed to be a crowbar, during a robbery.

At around 6.45am, two security guards were delivering cash to the ATM machine at the Tesco Express on Aylsham Road, in Norwich, when a man approached them.

He hit one of the guards on the arm before stealing a quantity of cash. He then left the scene in a dark coloured estate car.

The offender is described as white, approximately 5ft 8ins tall and of stocky build. He is believed to have been wearing black clothing at the time of the incident.

Detective Sergeant Richard Dickinson, Norwich CID, would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the robbery or has any information concerning it.
