A second painting is thought to have been stolen from an exhibition in Norwich.

As previously reported, a north Norfolk landscape oil painting by Norwich artist Brian Korteling was taken from An Arts and Crafts Christmas exhibition at St Margaret’s Church of Art, off St Benedict’s Street, on Monday.

Now it has emerged a second painting – a circular acrylic painting of sunflowers by Liz Reed – has also been taken from the exhibition, which features the work of about 26 local artists.

Ms Reed, who lives in Wymondham and had priced her painting at £45, said: “I changed all my wall around on Monday lunchtime so it was there then, but when I went in on Wednesday it was gone. It is quite an unusual painting because it is a round canvas.

“It is about 12 inches in diameter.” She added: “It is a bit of a shock for us. It is the first time I have known anything like this to have happened.

“St Margaret’s is a lovely place to exhibit and we have had a lot of success there. It is just a shame that this has spoilt things.”

An Arts and Crafts Christmas exhibition is at St Margaret’s Church of Art until Saturday.

A Norfolk police spokesman confirmed that officers had received a report of a second painting being stolen from the St Margaret’s Church of Art exhibition.
