Police investigating the deaths of an engaged couple who were walking barefoot the A47 are this evening putting in place a rolling road block on the A1101, near Wisbech, to allow more searches to take place.

Officers were due to start searching the section of road - Churchill Road/Elm High Road - between the B198 and A47 roundabouts from about 5.45pm.

The searches, which are being carried out as part of the investigation into the deaths of Tadas Zaleskas and Nonita Karajevaite on the A47 at Terrington St John, are expected to take between two and three hours.

Motorists are advised to approach with caution and where possible take alternative routes.

Police thanked drivers for their assistance.
