Police are urging motorists using beauty spots around West Norfolk to be vigilant after three vehicles were broken into over the weekend.

Two windows of a Fiat Punto parked at the RSPB Reserve in Snettisham were smashed on Saturday between 1.45pm and 4pm. A Tom Tom satellite navigation system, a holdall containing clothing, an iPad 2, Nokia and HTC mobile phones were all taken.

Documents and a wallet were taken from a Peugeot 406 parked at Bawsey Country Park between 11.30am and 11.45am on Sunday.

Later that day between 12.30pm and 2pm at Scissors Crossing, Wolferton, the rear window of a Fiat 500 was smashed and thieves took a handbag which contained about £150 in cash.

Sgt Rob Curl said: “Several offences have happened in remote locations, many in beauty spot car parks. I would ask motorists to make sure vehicles are always left locked and secure and that drivers do not advertise their property to thieves by leaving attractive items such as handbags, phones or sat navs on display.”

Valuables should be preferably removed from the vehicle or placed in the boot or glove box out of sight.

Anyone with information about any of the above incidents should contact Norfolk police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
