Police received complaints about the party at East Tuddenham Village Hall, near Dereham.

Sergeant Andy Terry said: “A lot of people turned up to the party causing parking mayhem and chaos for some residents of East Tuddenham.

“On that basis we took steps to prevent more people from attending.

“We used Twitter for that purpose and sometimes use social media to get messages out to the public.”

At around 9pm last night, Norfolk Police tweeted: “#Norfolk Police are advising people considering attending a party at East Tuddenham to stay away due to numbers of people in village Thanks.”

Sgt Terry said: “The party fizzled out at around midnight, as the people who were holding it said they would, and no arrests were made.”

East Tuddenham has a population of approximately 400 people.

Sgt Terry was unable to say how many people were at the party.
