Police in Lowestoft have issued CCTV images of a man who is believed to have been the look-out during an attempted armed robbery at a store in Westwood Avenue.
On Monday, May 27 the female check-out operator at the Anglia Co-operative foodstore was confronted by a man who was wearing a Balaclava and then pulled out what appeared to be a pistol.
However the staff member held her ground and refused to hand over any cash - prompting the offender to flee empty-handed after trying to grab the till.
The police have now issued three images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the attempted armed robbery.
A police spokesman said: “Following enquiries, officers believe the man pictured may have been a look-out for the balaclava-clad offender who entered and demanded money from staff while brandishing a hand gun.
“No money was handed over and the would-be robber fled, followed by the man pictured.
“Police are asking the man or anyone who may recognise him to come forward – if you can help call Det Con 157 Woodham at Lowestoft CID by dialling 101.”
The robber was white, of average height and of medium to stocky build. He was wearing white trainers, beige coloured trousers, a khaki/grey hooded top and a dark coloured Balaclava partially over his face.
