Around 400 officers from 11 different constabularies were needed to police the marches, which saw four arrests.

A Norfolk Constabulary spokesman said it would take a couple of months to calculate the exact figures, saying: “This was a significant and complex policing operation with support from a number of police forces, and as such the final cost will not be known for some time.

“Norfolk Constabulary has contingency funds in place to cover operations such as this, so there will be no impact on the policing budget.”
