Norfolk police had appealed for information after the ring was reported stolen from a home in Taverham, between 7.30pm on Friday and 8am the next day.

Police had said a suspect or suspects had entered a property in The Fallows through an unlocked back door and stole a ring from the windowsill in the kitchen.

But, shortly after issuing the appeal, police said the owner had found the ring and the force was no longer treating it as a burglary.
