Detectives in Norwich are appealing for witnesses after a handbag containing bank cards and a mobile phone was stolen from a property in Aylsham Road.

The incident happened at a proeprty near to the junction with Waterloo Park Avenue between 2pm and 4pm on Friday, May 23.

Suspects entered through the back door, which was left open while the householder was gardening.

Detective Sergeant Dave Freeman, from Norwich CID, said: “With the onset of the warmer weather I would encourage people to be sensible about their home security.

“Thieves will be easily drawn to homes where windows and doors have been left open, even if they can see someone is at home.”

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the times stated.
