Police have removed the cordon around the scene of an alleged rape in Cromer.
The bus shelter in the town’s Cadogan Road had been sealed off after a woman in her late teens reported being attacked by two men on Friday around 11.30pm.
A police officer stood guard at the site most of Saturday.
However, the police tape was removed around 10pm after a forensic officer examined the scene.
Speaking before the cordon was lifted, a spokesperson for Norfolk Constabulary said: “The woman is being supported by specially trained officers and the area has been sealed off while initial enquiries are carried out.”
Police have appealed for anyone with information, or anyone who was in the area at the time, to come forward by calling 101.
The reported attack comes as the town was put into lockdown amid concerns of disturbances over the weekend - although the two incidents have not been linked by police.
