They put themselves in harm’s way to help keep us safe and now police officers and staff have been recognised at the 10th Norfolk Safer Community Awards (NOSCAs).

The awards, which were held tonight (Thursday, October 12) at the Holiday Inn Norwich North, helped to highlight police officers, staff and members of the public who have gone that extra mile to help others living in Norfolk.

Norfolk’s chief constable Simon Bailey said it was “an honour” to be hosting the event which heard some extraordinary tales of bravery, heroism and selflessness.

He said: “Over the last decade we have highlighted the exceptional work of many of our officers, staff and residents, and tonight is no different.”

Crime Correspondent Peter Walsh has been tweeting live from the event during the evening.
