Police have named one of the two teenagers killed after their BMW left the A14 and crashed into a tree.

Adam Weller, 19, of Hereward Way, Weeting, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident on the eastbound carriageway near junction 43 at Bury St Edmunds.

He was the driver of a silver BMW. A 16-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the same car, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridgeshire, for treatment for serious injuries but died this morning.

He has yet to be named.

Suffolk Police say a red Ford Fiesta was also seen travelling along the road with the BMW yesterday at approximately 8.55pm.

The man driving the Fiesta was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving yesterday and bailed pending further enquiries.

He is 20 years old and from Bury St Edmunds.

He is due to return to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on March 4, 2013.

Any witnesses to the incident should call PC Danny Ormes at the serious collision investigation team on 101.
