Three sheep have been killed and a further 16 injured in a field just off Holt Road in Gresham.

Police said that one sheep was killed and a further 12 injured at about 8.30am on Thursday, September 14, and two sheep were killed and four injured about three weeks ago.

Farmer Andy Peck said: “I’ve been a farmer since 1981 and this is only the third such incident I’ve had. I’ve been using this field since 1985 and it’s the first incident there.

“We’re 99pc sure it was a dog. A witness saw a Labrador-type dog with the sheep last Thursday. It would have had to jump over a 3ft gate to get among the sheep. The incidents have cost me about £1,800 and you don’t like to see your sheep mauled.”

anyone who saw a dog worrying livestock in Gresham should call PC Jason Pegden at Fakenham police station on 101.
