Police are seeking witnesses after a man, driving a dark coloured Peugeot 306 or similar, grabbed a woman and tried to get her into his car as she walked along a road in Lowestoft.

Officers are keen to trace the man, who is described as being of Asian/Pakistani appearance, in his late 30s to early 40s, of thick set build, with dark hair and wearing a grey hooded top in connection with the incident, which happened in Normanston Drive about 11pm on Monday night (May 5).

A 26-year-old woman was walking up the road, not far from the petrol station near the railway station, when a vehicle pulled up behind her.

A police spokesman said: 'The man in the car opened the door and grabbed her arm and told her to get into the vehicle. The woman broke free and the man closed the door and drove away.'
