Police are seeking witnesses and are asking anyone who was aware of a shooting in the Lound area on Friday, May 23 to come forward after a pet cat was injured and had to have its leg amputated.

The cat’s owner heard what sounded like a large single gun shot close to his home at about 5.20am on Friday, May 23. Just under an hour later, about 6.15am, the injured cat – a female tabby – was found struggling back to the house.

She appeared to have been shot and this was confirmed when the animal was taken to the vets for treatment. The cat’s leg had to be amputated.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call PC Carlo Di Franco at Lowestoft police on 101.
