Police appeal for witnesses to assault which left man with sunken skull and fractured eye socket in Riverside area of Norwich

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in the Riverside area of Norwich, which left a man with a sunken skull and three fractures around his left eye socket.

At some point between 12.30am and 12.45am on Sunday, December 2 the assault took place on the footpath adjacent to the Thai River Floating Restaurant.

A man was walking with his girlfriend when she was verbally abused by a woman who approached her from ahead. The man asked the woman to leave his girlfriend alone but instead she started thumping his girlfriend.

Two men then approached, asked the victim to leave the woman alone and started punching him to the head.

The woman is described as white, 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build, with black, straight neck-length hair and as wearing a light blue top and black trousers.

The first man is described as white, about 5ft 11ins tall, with medium-length black, straight hair, of medium build and as wearing a red or blue chequered shirt. The second man is described as white with blonde hair.
