Police are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted on a bus in Norwich.

The woman, in her 20s, was on the number 21 service travelling through Bowthorpe when the attack happened between 9.40am and 9.50am on Thursday, January 2.

The woman was sitting on the top deck when a man approached her from the seats behind and kissed her. The man then quickly walked down the stairs and got off at the bus stop on Dereham Road, just before Grant Street.

Police said the woman was left very upset and distressed.

The man was white, in his 40s, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins, of medium build, with short greying hair and a very short goatee beard/stubble and was wearing round rimmed glasses, a black suit and a white shirt.

Officers want to speak to anyone who was on the bus at the time or may have seen the man get off the bus or in the Grant Street area.
